Kuroshio shot hole borer is a non-native beetle currently known to infest and kill trees in Southern California. It is almost physically identical to the polyphagous shot hole borer, also a non-native beetle found in Southern California. For a writeup on both these invasive insects and the fungi species they spread, see the entry on polyphagous shot hole borer.
