The Southern Forest Insect Work Conference just passed a resolution regarding the movement of firewood. Lest you think the issue of moving firewood only applies to Michigan, the SFIWC includes states like Georgia, Florida, and more.
With two dissenting votes (out of 52), the Southern Forest Insect Work Conference (SFIWC) membership has approved the resolution for "Restriction of Firewood Movement to Slow the Spread of Invasive Species Harmful to North American Forests." The approved resolution officially will be endorsed by SFIWC and placed on their website.
Once I am able to read resolution online, I'll write a blog about what I think of it! Judging from the title alone, it sounds like it could be good.
